The IEA’s BLUE map scenario

The IEA CCS Roadmap published in October 2009, calls for 100 CCS projects to be deployed by 2020. This is a significant increase of the number of projects with an emphasis on sectors other than coal that will need to develop CCS to achieve the BLUE map scenario targets. The IEA’s BLUE map scenario responds to the call to reduce global greenhouse gas emission by 50% by 2050 with CCS set to deliver one-fifth of the required 50% reduction in GHG emissions.
